About Cart

Cart is an exciting new art space in Seaford, at the gateway to the Peninsular.

We provide regular classes, themed workshops, exhibitions and open studio events. We maintain a dynamic inventory of Artwork for sale from the stockroom.

We aim to provide a stimulating and informative experience. Participants are encouraged to explore experimental apporaches,investigate unique manipulations of materials and build on their intuitive perceptions to develop their own language.

Perception and imagination are developed in unison, looking and dreaming are the means by which it is hoped participants will clarify and build on creative impulses.

About your Tutors:

Richard Granville - Smith

Richard Granville-Smith is a highly respected Artist & Art Lecture.

Over 35 years of teaching he has established a reputation for delivering uniquely inspirational guidance to Art students across a wide spectrum of experience and approaches.

He cites his most formative influences as Artist and lecturer as his time on the Winchester School of Art MA course, based in Barcelona. And, the mentorship of Dennis Creffield, subsequent to completing his BA at Brighton university. Dennis Creffield was a student of David Bomberg, and the philosophy and approaches exemplified by the ‘Bomberg school’ lie at the core of Richards teaching methods.

He has exhibited internationally, Spain, the UK and Australia and received grant awards  from South East Arts in the Uk and Arts Victora  in Australia. He was a resident Artist at Montsalvat from 2004-2009.

He has taught Painting, Drawing & Art History at ;

Hastings Foundation course UK, Brighton Foundation course UK, Brighton University UK , Boxhill TAFE Aus, Monash University, Melbourne Polytechnic & Swinburne TAFE Aus
